Previous director of the Committee of Administrators of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vinod Rai has spoken about his lament over the situation of ladies' cricket in India in a new meeting with The Week. Mr Rai has been in the information off late because of his book "In addition to a Nightwatchman", in which he has expounded on his residency and his spell with cricket organization.

Talking about ladies' cricket in India, Mr Rai said that he needed to call-up then unit makers Nike to request that they configuration ladies' pullovers independently as prior the men's shirt's were being "cut-up and yet again sewed" for the ladies.

"I don't believe ladies' cricket has been offered the consideration it merits. Sadly, ladies cricketers had not been treated in a serious way till around 2006, when Mr [Sharad] Pawar stepped up to the plate and consolidation the people's affiliation. I was dismayed to realize that men's outfits were being cut up and yet again sewed for ladies' players. I needed to ring up Nike and let them know that this was not on and that their plan would be unique.

"I truly accept the young ladies merited much better [when it came to] preparing, training offices, cricketing gear, travel offices and, at last, match charges and retainers. That was missing and we attempted to redress it," Mr Rai said.

He additionally added that ladies' cricket certainly stood out after India arrived at the last of the 2017 ICC World Cup, wherein Harmanpreet Kaur played a thump of 171 not out to drive India to the last.

"That is an explanation for not getting things done. Except if you give them support, how can they go to win a prize? In the event that they couldn't win in Australia or England, [then] the central thing was mind molding. Each group has those psychological mentors and sports clinicians.
