Rugby morning headlines as Dan Biggar injury revealed and Barbarians suffer Quade Cooper embarrassment

Northampton affirm Biggar nursing neck injury

Northampton Saints have affirmed that Wales fly-half Dan Biggar has been nursing a neck injury.

The Lions 10 kicked the Saints to triumph against London Irish toward the end of the week, yet before he kicked the triumphant focuses, he had looked sure to be supplanted in the wake of becoming involved with a ruck.

"I think he was worn out," Saints head of rugby Chris Boyd said a short time later.

"At that stage, we were presumably attempting to bite the clock up and he simply needed a rest."

Northampton later affirmed to the Telegraph that the British and Irish Lions fly-half had been nursing a neck injury.

Samoa drop European visit

Samoa have dropped their forthcoming rugby visit through Europe due to Covid-19 ramifications.

They were set to play matches against Georgia, Uruguay, Spain and the Barbarians in November.

The Barbarians conflict at Twickenham on November 27 had effectively sold a greater number of than 30,000 tickets, with the inclusion of Springbok pair Steven Kitshoff and Frans Malherbe in the Baa-Baas crew being reported around the same time that Samoa dropped their visit.

It is normal a "Manu Samoa choice" could in any case take the field in London, drawn from Europe-based players and mentors.

Nonetheless, it's been considered that an excursion north would demonstrate excessively hard for the group's Samoa-based players in the Pacific.

"Lakapi Samoa couldn't ensure the security of any of our players and the executives while on crusade and the present status of crisis measures by the public authority limits the arrival of anybody inside a half year of reaching the infection," Lakapi Samoa CEO Faleomavaega Vincent Fepuleai said in an assertion.

"This was a significant impediment to protect our boundaries. We do acknowledge the ramifications and size of results the pandemic can have to our little country with restricted assets."

Cooper cockerel up

There was shame for the Barbarians after Quade Cooper openly denied any contribution in the impending match, regardless of being named in the crew.

The Baa Baas, who are being trained by Cooper's Australia supervisor Dave Rennie, declared his expansion on Monday, just for the Wallabies star to offer a public expression some time a short time later.

The outside-half is because of head to Japan subsequent to confronting Wales on November 20.

"At no stage have I consented to play for the @Barbarian_FC in the impending game against Samoa. I'm contracted to the Kintetsu Liners," Cooper tweeted on Tuesday.

Cooper has been one of the stars of the new Rugby title subsequent to making his global return.
