Wasim Khan steps down as PCB CEO
Wasim Khan, the savvy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has ventured down.
The board affirmed the news with a concise assertion on Wednesday (September 29) morning. "Pakistan Cricket Board today affirmed Wasim Khan has offered his renunciation as Chief Executive. Just like the cycle, the BOG (Board of Governors) will meet sometime in the afternoon to think about the matter."
The abdication follows a spate of ways out since Ramiz Raja took over as the head of the PCB recently. Ramiz's climb to the top PCB post, under the order of PCB supporter in-boss Prime Minister Imran Khan, was gone before by the renunciations of Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis, the lead trainer and the bowling trainer, of the public group.
The exit of Khan (50) comes all at once of genuine agitating in Pakistan cricket which has experienced in the new past withdrawals of New Zealand and England - two series from which the PCB had significant assumptions. A segment of Pakistan cricket faulted the CEO for his powerlessness to persuade the groups to play in the country.
Khan, who took over as the CEO in 2019 after he was enrolled by previous director Ehsan Mani, surrendered in front of a urgent BOG meeting which, as the PCB has expressed, will accept an approach his choice to leave. Khan's three-year contract runs till February one year from now.
